Merida was once the sprawling capital of the Mayan empire and the center of their universe. Merida is now the center of a cosmopolitan universe, built on Mayan heritage, and given a unique twist by French and Mediterranean immigrants. Days are spent exploring the city's many museums and equally fascinating shopping districts. At night, local music can be heard from just about every park in the city, inviting newcomers to enjoy a romantic and fun-filled evening.

Noord, located on the northern tip of Aruba, is where much of the island’s lively tourism scene comes to life. This district is home to the famous Palm Beach, a two-mile stretch of soft sand lined with high-rise resorts, chic beach clubs, and a vibrant mix of restaurants and nightlife.

Kerak is a fortress town 75 miles (120km) from Amman, and contains one of the two major Crusader castles in the Kingdom. The castle, built to protect the approach to Jerusalem, stands on a craggy plateau 4,300ft above sea level. It was built in the early part of the 12th century and held for 50 years by the Crusaders until they were defeated by Salah al Din (Saladin) in 1189.

This National Park is located 35km south of Fort Portal and is home to monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, bushbuck, elephants, birds and many varieties of butterflies. A four wheel drive is recommended.

Set along the western shore of Lake Maggiore, Stresa is one of northern Italy’s most graceful lakeside towns. Its elegant promenade, framed by grandhotels and views of the Borromean Islands, has attracted travelers since the 19th century, from European nobility to writers like Ernest Hemingway.
