Toledo, seat of Lucas County, northwestern Ohio, a port on the Maumee River, at its mouth on Lake Erie; incorporated 1837. The city's extensive transportation facilities include its fine natural harbor, which is a port on the Great Lakes-Saint Lawrence Seaway and ranks among the world's leading soft-coal-shipping ports; an extensive network of railroads; and an air cargo terminal.

Chaguaramas is a coastal area on the northwestern peninsula of Trinidad, extending along the Gulf of Paria toward the Bocas del Dragon. The peninsula combines forested hills, sheltered bays, marinas, beaches, and offshore islands, creating a landscape that differs from the more urban areas around Port of Spain.

The Peak District National Park occupies a large area in central England, mainly across Derbyshire with smaller sections extending into Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Yorkshire. It is divided broadly into the gritstone moorlands of the Dark Peak, the limestone dales of the White Peak, and the rolling farmland of the South West Peak. Tsavo East National Park is one of Kenya’s largest protected areas, covering about 13,747 square kilometres in the country’s southeast. Its landscape is largely semi-arid, with open plains, scrub, rocky outcrops, and river corridors shaped by the Tsavo, Athi, Galana, and Voi rivers. The park is particularly associated with its dust-red elephants, whose appearance comes from the animals coating themselves in the park’s distinctive red soil.

Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories, set on the rocky northern shore of Great Slave Lake amid the forests and exposed Canadian Shield of the subarctic. The city developed around gold mining and later became the territorial centre for government, commerce, transportation, and northern services. Today, Yellowknife serves as a gateway to the wider Northwest Territories and the Canadian Arctic. Its location beneath the auroral oval makes the northern lights a defining feature.
