Madikwe Game Reserve is a large protected wildlife area in South Africa’s North West province, close to the Botswana border. Its landscape consists mainly of open grassland, bushveld, rocky hills, and seasonal watercourses, with habitats supporting a wide range of wildlife. The reserve is notable for being one of South Africa’s major conservation areas established on former farmland, with wildlife populations restored through a large-scale relocation programme.

Masai Mara is a renowned wildlife region in southwestern Kenya, known for its broad grasslands, seasonal rivers, and high concentration of large mammals. The reserve forms part of the greater Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, allowing wildlife to move across a much larger landscape beyond the protected area itself. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous antelope species are commonly associated with the region.

Located among the calcareous plateaus covered with Mideterranean scrub and alluvial deposites from the coastal plains, Nîmes appears as a city with various faces. First and foremost, the city is known as the 'French Roma', because of its famous history and its well conserved antique monuments. Nîmes is also, for many 'aficionados', the 'French Madrid'.

Lijiang sits in northwest Yunnan, shaped by its role as a trading town on routes linking Tibet, Sichuan, and Southeast Asia. It is closely associated with the Naxi people, whose language, music, and traditions remain central to local identity.

While an earthquake in 1972 left few buildings intact in downtown Managua, new areas are building up. Managua has excellent restaurants, nice hotels, and is a good base for day tours into the countryside.
