Timor-Leste, one of the world’s youngest nations, is a place where resilience and cultural richness shape everyday life. Its history is deeply marked by centuries of Portuguese colonial rule, followed by Indonesian occupation and a long struggle for independence, achieved in 2002.

Nestled in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park offers a unique safari experience centered around one of the country’s most impressive wildlife spectacles. Established in 1931 to protect the last remaining elephants of the region, the park now spans over 1,640 square kilometers and is home to a thriving population of more than 600 elephants.

Kerak is a fortress town 75 miles (120km) from Amman, and contains one of the two major Crusader castles in the Kingdom. The castle, built to protect the approach to Jerusalem, stands on a craggy plateau 4,300ft above sea level. It was built in the early part of the 12th century and held for 50 years by the Crusaders until they were defeated by Salah al Din (Saladin) in 1189.

Maroon Bells is a famous mountain landscape near Aspen, Colorado, centered on two distinctive bell-shaped peaks rising above the Maroon Creek Valley. Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak reach more than 14,000 feet, with their dark red mudstone slopes creating a strong contrast against the surrounding forests and alpine terrain.
