Whitehorse, the capital of Canada’s Yukon Territory, sits along the Yukon River and serves as the cultural, economic, and transportation heart of the North. Its history is closely tied to the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s, when prospectors passed through the area on their way to Dawson City.

Kristiansund is a town facing the North Atlantic, on the west coast of Norway. Both its history and geographical position are unique. King Island was discovered in 1798, and was a preferred breeding area for sea elephants and seals. Around the island are many shipwrecks, caused by the rough seas of the Bass Strait.
