Robin Hood's Bay is a small coastal village on the North Yorkshire coast, set within a steep-sided valley that reaches the North Sea. Its tightly packed stone cottages, narrow lanes, and winding passages descend toward a rocky shore, giving the village a distinctive layout shaped by its position between the cliffs and the sea. Robin Hood's Bay lies within the North York Moors National Park and forms part of the Yorkshire coast, with walking routes connecting it to nearby settlements and beaches.

McMurdo is distinctive not only for its scientific role but also for the unusual scale of daily life in Antarctica. The station has a power plant, medical facilities, dining services, workshops, communications systems, and specialized vehicles used to support research in extreme conditions. Nearby Scott Base, operated by New Zealand, provides another important Antarctic research presence on Ross Island. McMurdo also supports flights and overland journeys to remote parts of the continent.

Killarney National Park occupies more than 10,000 hectares in County Kerry in southwest Ireland, surrounding lakes, mountains, woodland, waterfalls, and historic estates. Established as Ireland’s first national park, it includes Lough Leane, Muckross Lake, and Upper Lake, with the peaks of MacGillycuddy’s Reeks forming a dramatic backdrop. Much of the park is covered by native woodland, including areas of ancient oak forest and yew woodland.

Atauro Island is a mountainous island north of Dili in Timor-Leste, separated from the mainland by the Ombai Strait. The island is surrounded by exceptionally diverse coral reefs and clear tropical waters, making its marine environment one of its defining features.

Sidemen is a rural valley in eastern Bali, surrounded by rice fields, wooded hills, small villages, and views toward Mount Agung. Located in Karangasem Regency, the area is known for its agricultural landscape and traditional village setting rather than a large urban center. Narrow roads and walking paths pass through cultivated fields, irrigation channels, gardens, and settlements, providing a close view of everyday life in Bali's countryside.
