Aceh is a province at the northern tip of Sumatra, with Banda Aceh as its capital and a coastline facing the Andaman Sea, Malacca Strait, and Indian Ocean. Its identity is strongly shaped by Islam, local adat traditions, and a long history of sultanates and maritime trade. Banda Aceh’s Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is one of the province’s best-known landmarks, while the Aceh Tsunami Museum documents the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami and its lasting impact on local communities.

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps, rising within the Mont Blanc massif on the border between France and Italy. Its summit reaches roughly 4,805 meters and is surrounded by glaciers, snowfields, rocky ridges, and some of the highest peaks in Western Europe. The mountain dominates views from Chamonix in France and Courmayeur in Italy, while the surrounding massif forms a major alpine landscape for mountaineering, hiking, skiing, and scientific study.

Charlotte Bay is best known for its combination of glacial scenery and marine wildlife. The surrounding mountains descend toward heavily glaciated coastlines, while the bay itself can contain floating sea ice and icebergs of varying sizes. Whales are regularly encountered in the waters of the Antarctic Peninsula, and seals may also be seen around ice and along the shoreline.

Leiden or Leyden, city in the western Netherlands, in Zuid-Holland (South Holland) Province, on the Old Rhine River, near The Hague. Leiden is also the site of the State University of Leiden, one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in Europe. It was the birthplace of several important Dutch painters, including Rembrandt, Jan van Goyen, and Jan Steen. During the 17th century the English settlers who became known as the Pilgrims took refuge in Leiden before leaving for North America.

Broken Hill is a mining town which is also very popular amongst Australian artists. The town is known as ‘Silver City’ and still mines for Silver, lead and zinc today. However there is only one mine that is still open today. When you get here be prepared to change your watches.
