Maligne Lake is a long, glacially fed lake in Jasper National Park in Alberta’s Canadian Rockies. Surrounded by steep mountain peaks, forests, and alpine terrain, it is one of the largest lakes in the park and an important part of the Maligne Valley. The lake extends deep into the mountains, with several smaller islands and sheltered bays along its shoreline.

Kootenay National Park occupies 1,406 square kilometres of the Canadian Rockies in southeastern British Columbia, extending from the Continental Divide toward the Columbia Valley. The park is known for its contrasts, with glaciers and alpine terrain giving way to dry grasslands, narrow canyons, and forested valleys. Highway 93 South crosses the park, providing access to many of its landscapes and viewpoints.

Portoroz lies on Slovenia’s short Adriatic coast, where its identity has been shaped by the sea and by centuries of salt production in the nearby Sečovlje pans.

Saunders Island, located in the northwestern part of the Falkland Islands, is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This remote and rugged island, covering over 49 square miles, offers visitors the chance to experience nature at its most pristine. Saunders Island is one of the few places in the world where you can observe five species of penguins, Gentoo, King, Magellanic, Rockhopper, and the occasional Macaroni, all in one location.

Kuranda is a pretty town set amongst the glorious mountains of the Atherton Tablelands, and famous for its wonderful markets. There is spectacular rainforest surrounding the town, with various walking tracks.
