Chyulu Hills National Park lies in southeastern Kenya between Amboseli and Tsavo, forming a long range of volcanic hills covered by grassland, shrubland, and patches of montane forest. The hills rise from the surrounding plains and are shaped by relatively recent volcanic activity, with lava flows, cones, caves, and other geological features visible across the landscape.

Lake Retba, also known as Lac Rose, is a shallow salt lake near the Atlantic coast, north of Dakar. Its water is separated from the ocean by a narrow belt of dunes, creating a landscape of pale sand, salt flats, and low scrub. The lake is best known for its high salt concentration, which can produce pink, reddish, or mauve tones under particular conditions of sunlight and water chemistry. Its appearance changes with weather and light rather than remaining one fixed color.

Aberdare National Park is a 311 square mile sanctuary on an isolated volcanic massif which forms part of the eastern wall of the Rift Valley. Part of the larger forest reserve, the Aberdares are covered with a dense rainforest and provide spectacular views over the Rift Valley. Bird life is abundant with more than 200 species.

Saipan, the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands, offers a rare combination of deep historical roots, island traditions, and dramatic landscapes. Located in the western Pacific, this U.S. territory was once the site of one of the most pivotal battles in the Pacific during World War II. Visitors today can explore the remains of bunkers, tanks, and hidden caves at sites like Suicide Cliff, Last Command Post, and the American Memorial Park.
