Ashland is a small city in southern Oregon, set in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains near the California border. The community is known for its tree-lined streets, historic downtown, Lithia Park, and access to surrounding mountain landscapes. Ashland’s compact center contains independent shops, restaurants, galleries, and historic buildings, while Ashland Creek runs through the city and into the park.

Potosí rises on the Altiplano of southern Bolivia and for centuries it was one of the richest cities in the world because of what lies just beyond its streets. At the foot of Cerro Rico (“Rich Mountain”), silver was discovered in the mid-1500s, and within a few decades the city became a center of mining and wealth that shaped global trade and economies.

Aalborg is the fourth largest city in Denmark and constitutes a natural center for the North Jutland region. In addition Aalborg is Denmark's largest conference center, outside Copenhagen. Aalborg has many cultural attractions which appeal to a wide variety of tastes; a varied night-life and more than 300 restaurants, bars and clubs.

Scoresby Sund (Kangertittivaq in Greenlandic), on the eastern coast of Greenland, is the largest and longest fjord system in the world. On the northern side of the fjord's mouth sits Ittoqqortoormiit, the only permanent settlement in the region and home to less than 500 residents. The region is well-known for its Arctic flora and fauna.

Stromboli is a small volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, just off the north coast of Sicily. Referred to by some as the "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean," Stromboli is in a constant state of mild volcanic activity, so don't venture out on a hike without an experienced guide.
