Riyadh blends stories from centuries with modern splendor. At its core stands Al Masmak Fortress, built of clay and mud-brick in the 19th century. It was the site that set the stage for the unification of Saudi Arabia. Today, it’s a museum that preserves weapons, historical displays, and accounts of that pivotal moment. Adjacent to the fortress, the Souq Al-Zal offers spices, traditional jewelry, and handmade crafts, connecting visitors to the city’s past through its alleyways.

Aberdare National Park is a 311 square mile sanctuary on an isolated volcanic massif which forms part of the eastern wall of the Rift Valley. Part of the larger forest reserve, the Aberdares are covered with a dense rainforest and provide spectacular views over the Rift Valley. Bird life is abundant with more than 200 species.

There is a whole host of wildlife on Moreton Island which you can see on the numerous beaches, and along the walking and 4WD trails. Many wading birds can be found on the island, in particular between September and April when many birds migrate from other countries. You may also be lucky enough to see Green and Loggerhead Turtles which often nest between November - February.

An island in the Iisselmeer until 1957 when it was linked to the mainland by a dike. Its unique houses are painted deep green and built on stilts to protect them against the raging sea.
