Selfoss is the largest town in South Iceland and an important service center for the surrounding agricultural communities. It stands on the Ölfusá River, whose broad waters are fed by the glacial rivers of Iceland’s southern highlands. The town is relatively modern in appearance, but its position beside the river has long made it an important crossing point and meeting place.

Frederiksted is a historic coastal town on the western end of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, set beside a deep-water bay and a long waterfront. Pastel-colored buildings, palm-lined streets, the Frederiksted Pier, and nearby beaches give the town a distinctly maritime setting. Rathlin has a notably remote character despite its short ferry journey from Ballycastle.

Jodhpur, often called the "Blue City" of India, is located on the edge of the Thar Desert in the state of Rajasthan. The city is famous for the blue-painted houses in its old quarter, which create a striking contrast against the golden hue of the desert landscape.
