Rutana is a town in southeastern Burundi and the administrative centre of Rutana Province. The town sits within a hilly landscape of cultivated slopes, valleys, and rural settlements, with the surrounding countryside forming part of Burundi's southern highlands. Rutana is particularly associated with the nearby Kagera Falls, also known as the Chutes de la Kagera, where a series of waterfalls descends through a green valley.

Almaty is Kazakhstan's largest city and a major cultural and economic center in the southeast of the country. It lies at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau, where the broad urban area gives way to forested mountain slopes and alpine terrain. The terrain of the city is mostly flat, and the name Padang actually means "plain." But if you venture outside of the city limits, the scenery is quite lovely going towards the neighboring city of Solok.
