Cape Peninsula is the mountainous, coastal region extending south from Cape Town into the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay. Its landscape combines Table Mountain, rocky headlands, sandy beaches, forests, and open fynbos-covered slopes. Table Mountain National Park runs along much of the peninsula, protecting the mountain chain and coastline from Signal Hill to Cape Point.
Kolsai Lakes National Park is a protected mountain area in southeastern Kazakhstan, located in the northern Tian Shan east of Almaty. The park is centered on a chain of alpine lakes surrounded by steep forested slopes, rocky peaks, and mountain valleys. The three Kolsai Lakes occupy different elevations along the Kolsai River, with the landscape changing from coniferous forest at lower levels to alpine terrain higher in the mountains.
Lyttelton is the largest settlement on Lyttelton Harbour, an inlet on the northwestern side of Banks Peninsula, and provides a frequent landing spot to those who are Christchurch bound.
Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand near the borders with Laos and Myanmar, is a city where history, art, and tranquil landscapes converge. Founded in the 13th century as the first capital of the Lanna Kingdom, it retains a strong sense of heritage while also serving as a hub for contemporary Thai creativity.
