Bloemfontein
Bloemfontein is the capital of the Free State province and South Africa’s judicial capital, located near the geographic centre of the country. Known locally as Bloem, the city is often called the “City of Roses,” a reference to the many rose gardens found around its streets and parks. Its character comes from a combination of government institutions, historic sandstone buildings, museums, universities, and open spaces.
Kamloops
Kamloops, located in the interior of British Columbia, sits at the meeting point of the North and South Thompson Rivers. The settlement sits between steep valleys and the Atlantic Ocean, with colorful buildings clustered around narrow streets and a waterfront used by local fishermen. Its position makes it an important starting point for exploring Santo Antão’s rugged northern coast and inland valleys.
Carriacou
Carriacou is the largest of Grenada’s sister islands and part of the Grenadines, lying north of mainland Grenada between the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. The island has a relatively dry climate and a landscape of low hills, rocky headlands, coral reefs, beaches, and small valleys used for farming. Hillsborough is the main settlement, while Windward, L’Esterre, and Tyrell Bay are among the island’s other communities.
