Located roughly in the center of the country, Riobamba is one of Ecuador's largest cities and the starting point of the scenic train ride to Nariz del Diablo (Devil's Nose). The city has a strong indigenous presence, which lends itself well to the open-air artisan market, and plenty of opportunities for mountainous activities such as hiking and mountain biking.

Bora Bora, often referred to as the "Jewel of the South Seas," is the epitome of tropical luxury. Nestled in the Society Islands of French Polynesia, this idyllic island is famed for its stunning turquoise lagoon, ringed by a barrier reef and dotted with overwater bungalows.

Bran, a small village nestled in the Carpathian Mountains of central Romania, is best known for its medieval fortress commonly referred to as “Dracula’s Castle.” While the connection to Bram Stoker’s fictional character is loose at best, Bran Castle continues to draw travelers with its striking towers, stone walls, and position on a rocky cliff. Originally built in the 14th century to defend against invading forces, the castle has passed through royal hands, most notably Queen Marie of Romania.

Gosier, the largest tourist area, has the works - casino, resort hotels, scalloped sandy coves and an original village center which has managed to retain its local character.

Landshut has the epithet "the three helmet city", lead back to the coat of arms of the city, which shows three helmets, like they were worn by the city guards in the middle age. The armours, produced by the so-called "plattners", were known and popular far over the frontiers of Landshut, at that time.
