Located in the Gulf of Honduras, this area of the Mayan offers jungle tours along the Rio San Carlos or walking through the Mayan ruina at Quirigua. In ancient Mayan culture, priests used to drive sting ray spines through their tongues to appease their gods.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park stretches across the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, protecting a broad section of the southern Appalachian Mountains. Its landscape changes with elevation, from rich hardwood forests in the valleys to spruce-fir forests near the highest summits.

Sigiriya, in central Sri Lanka, is an ancient rock fortress and one of the country’s most iconic archaeological sites. Rising nearly 200 meters from the surrounding plains, the massive granite column is crowned by the ruins of a royal palace built in the 5th century CE by King Kasyapa.

Gili Air is the easternmost of the three Gili Islands, located just off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. The small island is surrounded by coral reefs and shallow tropical waters, with sandy beaches and coconut palms lining much of its coast. Gili Air has a resident community and a more relaxed settlement pattern than Gili Trawangan, while still offering guesthouses, restaurants, cafés, and dive centers.
