Chester
One of the few fully walled cities from Roman times, this city is located south of Liverpool. Interesting shops in the town center are on the second level.
Po River
The Po River, the longest in Italy, flows eastward from Monte Viso, in the Cottian Alps, through the northern part of the country and drains into the Adriatic Sea near Venice. The Po flows through many important Italian cities, including Turin, Cremona, Piacenza, Ferrara.
Alentejo
Alentejo is a large region in southern Portugal known for its wide plains, cork oak forests, whitewashed towns, and slower rural pace. Stretching from the Tagus River to the Algarve and from the Atlantic coast to the Spanish border, it covers much of the country’s interior farmland and wine-producing territory.
Badlands National Park
Badlands National Park stretches across southwestern South Dakota, where layered rock formations and sharply eroded spires reveal nearly 75 million years of geological history. The park’s banded cliffs and pinnacles were shaped by wind and water, exposing ancient seabeds and fossil-rich layers that have made the area one of North America’s most important paleontological sites.
Burkina Faso
Who would have thought, back in the tumultuous coup and counter coup days of the 1970s, that Burkina Faso would become the cultural darling of West Africa? Unlikely as it seems, Burkina Faso has become the Utah of West Africa, hosting a biennial film festival that rivals the Sundance Film Festival for cultural clout. When it's not hosting film festivals, it's busy organizing its other biennial cultural festival.
