Inyeug, more commonly known as Mystery Island, is a tiny, uninhabited islet off the coast of Aneityum in Vanuatu’s southernmost province. Measuring just 1.5 kilometers long, the island is completely free of roads, shops, and electricity. What it offers instead is pure seclusion and untouched beauty. Cruise ships often anchor offshore, bringing day visitors to its white-sand beaches and shallow coral lagoons, but once they depart, the island returns to stillness.
The Bow River is one of Alberta’s best-known waterways, flowing from the Canadian Rockies through Banff National Park before continuing across the foothills and plains toward Calgary. Its headwaters are fed by glaciers and mountain snow, giving the river a cold, clear character and connecting high alpine landscapes with the prairie environment downstream.
Cobh, a colorful harbor town in County Cork, holds a unique place in Irish history and maritime heritage. Once known as Queenstown, it was the final port of call for the Titanic in 1912. Today, the Titanic Experience Cobh offers visitors a chance to step into the footsteps of the 123 passengers who boarded that day. Located in the original White Star Line ticket office, the museum tells personal stories of those who left from this very spot, blending interactive exhibits with original artifacts.
Brest sits at the western edge of Brittany, facing the Atlantic and shaped by its role as a strategic naval port. Much of the city was rebuilt after World War II, giving it a modern layout that contrasts with older Breton towns, yet its history remains closely tied to the sea.
The city of Santa Cruz De Tenerife, located on the island of Tenerife, is a favorite stop for Transatlantic voyagers. Tenerife is both the largest and most populated of the seven Canary Islands and of Spain itself. As the island's main city, Santa Cruz De Tenerife is home to almost half of the island's population.
Primary landmarks include the Santa Cruz Towers and the Iglesia de la Conception. In addition, its charming old wood-balconied buildings house attractive shops full of island handicrafts and enticing duty-free goods.
As an alternative, take a tour inland through steep mountains forested in pine and laurel to snow-capped Mount Teide (the highest peak in Spain). The last part of your island tour may be by funicular and there's a stunning view at the top.
