Dawes Glacier is a tidewater glacier in Endicott Arm, a deep fjord branching from the waters of southeastern Alaska’s Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness. The glacier descends from the Coast Mountains toward the head of the fjord, where ice meets seawater at a broad calving face. Towering mountains, steep cliffs, waterfalls, and dense coastal forest surround the fjord, creating a dramatic setting that is best experienced from the water.
Chiloé Island is the largest island in the Chiloé Archipelago in southern Chile, separated from the mainland by the Chacao Channel and surrounded by the Gulf of Corcovado and the Pacific Ocean. Its landscape is shaped by wooded hills, farmland, wetlands, beaches, and a network of channels and smaller islands. Rural communities are scattered across the island, while towns such as Castro, Ancud, and Chonchi provide commercial and cultural centers.
